Evaluation and accreditation of inspection and test activities: a symposium. [Harvey Schock; ASTM Committee E on Criteria for the Evaluation of Testing and Inspection Agencies.; ASTM International.;].

The purpose of STP is to provide an overview for industry and professionals on approaches to evaluation and accreditation of testing and inspection activities. The major subject areas are: • Evaluation and Accreditation Concepts • Laboratory Applications and Computerized Systems • Evaluation and Accreditation in Government.

The A2LA Inspection Body Accreditation Program offers accreditation for the inspection and conformity of a wide variety of processes and products.

A2LA recognizes the very close relationship between inspection, sampling, laboratory testing and measurement, yet understands that inspection encompasses a variety of activities not covered in. o The development of test and evaluation strategies (TESs) and test and evaluation master plans (TEMPs) in conjunction with the DOT&E.

Provides guidance to defense acquisition programs for developing and documenting the program's evaluation strategy and management approach in the TES and TEMP throughout the program's life cycle.

An initial step in the formation of a team is to decide who will be responsible for planning and implementing evaluation activities.

One program staff person should be selected as the lead evaluator to coordinate program efforts. This person should be responsible for evaluation activities, including planning and budgeting for evaluation. data. These Quality Standards for Inspection and Evaluation have been developed as a framework for performing both inspection and evaluation work.

This document is intended to provide guidance on measurements carried out as part of an inspection activity for both inspection bodies and the accreditation bodies assessing inspection bodies. The key objective of this guidance is to help ensure the validity of the measurements performed as part of inspections carried out in accordance with ISO.

*Note: ‘Temporary deviation from accreditation requirements and/or CAB procedures’ could include, for example, delay in performing periodic calibration and intermediate checks of the measuring and test equipment, use of alternative supplies that could affect the validity of the conformity assessment activity, PT participation, outsourcing.

IAS accredits inspection agencies to ISO/IEC Standard This accreditation process involves an assessment of the agencies competence for performing inspections and the consistency of their inspection activities.
